We did a little overnight jaunt on the AT this past weekend. There was unexpected rain and hail, so we ended up hiking 12 miles to Upper Goose Lake Cabin. The next morning I enjoyed coffee while we chatted with the AT thruhikers. We had a 2 mile walk to a road where we hitched a ride in a sweet Mini Cooper. No matter how short, backpacking is always an adventure.
